The professionals who lead the courses at NCS Colour Academy are experienced in colour teaching and are well-known specialists in their respective fields. All our teachers work in practice in the industry and draw upon their knowledge to give the participants the latest developments from the industry.
Berit Bergström, Stockholm, Sweden
Mrs. Bergström is working at NCS Colour AB in Stockholm, Sweden. She is Managing Director and teacher with NCS Colour Academy. NCS Colour Academy organises and develops colour courses in colour theory, colour design, decorative painting techniques and the use of paint, for professionals. Mrs. Bergström has extensive experience giving colour courses and presentations worldwide in NCS on a high level. She has carried out colour design courses for countless colour professionals and has conducted colour studies at university level worldwide. She has also carried out colour research projects, one of which with the purpose to inform professional colourists about useful results from Swedish colour research work. Mrs. Bergström is also President of AIC dating from 2010-2013. She was secretary of the Colour Science Foundation (1991-1997) with the task to grant funds for different colour research projects within the field of colour. She was chairperson of the AIC Study Group on Colour Education between 1998-2009. AIC is an international colour research organisation with annual meetings held around the world. She is also secretary of the Swedish Colour Centre Foundation.
Dr. Hildegard Kalthegener, Lorsch, Germany
Dr. Kalthegener has been working as a colour designer since 1990, with a teaching experience of more than 10 years. She studied "Gestaltungstechnik" (concentrating on Colour Design Strategies) in Essen and gained International knowledge on colour during a study year at the University of Pennsylvania in the U.S.A. and in Sweden, working closely with NCS Colour AB. The topic of her dissertation was "Colour Design between Artistic Intuition and Rational Argumentation". As a lecturer, Dr. Kalthegener conducts workshops on colour perception, on most precise and easy colour communication and on many colour questions connected to architecture, design and marketing in different branches of industry. Among her clients are world-leading furniture shops and producers, flooring material producers, DIY chains, architectural firms and others. Dr. Kalthegener gives colour courses at NCS Colour Academy.
Bengt Ahlin, Järna, Sweden
Mr. Ahlin is a Colour and Lighting Designer. In his companies Color Space AB and Ahlin & Gran AB, he works on assignments and projects in both the public and private sectors, primarily in Sweden but also Norway, Denmark and Germany. Mr. Ahlin is a frequent lecturer on the subject colour and light. He holds courses at NCS Colour Academy since 2007 on the basic knowledge of the NCS, colour and light in shop design as well as the yearly international colour design workshop. In 2010-2011, Mr. Ahlin was the co-organiser of the exhibition See! Colour!, showing works by Rudolf Steiner, Hilma af Klint, colour theory that showed Goethe's theories into practice and eight installations by world-renowned light and colour artist James Turrell. Mr. Ahlin has solid knowledge of light and colour through studying, among others, at Department of Physics, Royal Institute of Technology, NCS Colour Academy, as well as many years of practical experience. Mr. Ahlin is also a board member of the Swedish Colour Centre Foundation and Foundation Light Forum.
Dr. Olga Redin, Stockholm, Sweden
Dr. Redin is a Lecturer at the NCS Colour Academy. She finished her PhD at Moscow Architectural Institute with the dissertation "Colour in Architecture from the Middle Of The 20th Century to The Beginning Of The 21st Century in Modern Architectural Education". During her PhD she also studied at KTH in Stockholm as a result of winning the nation-wide scholarship competition in 2007. During her education, Dr. Redin has also worked with several international architectural and design companies, and served as a tutor at different schools in Moscow (including Moscow Architectural Institute, International Design School in Moscow, and the British Higher School of Art and Design). In addition, she is the author of 13 published articles about colour in architecture and design.
Latika Khosla, Mumbai, India
Mrs. Khosla is the Design Director of Freedom Tree Design, a colour and trend studio based in Mumbai, India. The studio, Freedom Tree Design, undertakes colour consultancies and design assignments in India and Internationally. She is on the board of the CMG - Color Marketing Group USA and the founder-organiser of Colors India, a cross industry open sharing platform where designers meet and discuss trends for the Indian marketplace. She is also the founder director of Freedom Tree, a wholly-Indian, colour-led lifestyle brand. What she enjoys most is the time spent in training and sharing design approaches and colour education with students, enthusiasts, professionals and brands. Mrs. Khosla gives trend forecasting courses at NCS Colour Academy.
Karl Johan Bertilsson, Stockholm, Sweden
Mr. Bertilsson is the Director of the NCS Colour Academy. He has worked for more than 15 years for NCS Colour AB and in all the world. Besides the colour and NCS experience Karl has run a language school in Mexico for more than 10 years and has vast experience in teaching. Today Mr. Bertilsson focuses entirely on the colour languages.
